For the past ten years, Melissa Sloan, a British mother, has been transforming her appearance with tattoos. With over 800 tattoos covering her body, she has made body art a huge part of her life. In fact, she gets nearly three new tattoos every single week, making her commitment to tattoos clear.
But this decision hasn’t come without its challenges. Melissa has faced social isolation, with many people judging her because of her tattoos. At work, she’s had difficulties fitting in, and things got even worse when she was excluded from her own kids’ school celebrations because of her appearance.
Despite all of this, Melissa hasn’t backed down from her love of tattoos. Recently, she decided to try something different—she bought a £3 bottle of foundation and used it to cover up her tattoos. It was just an experiment, but it made a big impact on her family.
When Melissa’s family saw her with her tattoos covered, they were shocked. Her kids even seemed frightened by the change, unsure of what to think. It was clear that her tattooed look had become a big part of who she is, and without it, something seemed missing.
But Melissa isn’t bothered by other people’s opinions. She loves her tattoos and the unique style they give her. Even though she’s received plenty of criticism online—some people saying she should look “more natural”—she remains proud of her individual look.
“I don’t mind what others think,” Melissa says. “These tattoos are a part of me, and I wouldn’t change a thing.”
