“At this age, it’s about showing him all the possibilities.” Melania, proud of her Slovenian roots, made sure Barron was bilingual. He often spoke with his grandmother, Melania’s mother, in Slovenian. But Melania also agreed with Donald’s belief that learning English was essential for living in America. “I think speaking more languages is great, but in America, you speak English,” she said.
One of the most striking things about Barron is his remarkable height. Standing at 6’7”, he is much taller than both his parents. Donald often joked about it, especially when talking about Barron’s love for soccer.
During a visit to Iowa, Donald humorously said, “He got that tall because he only ate his grandmother’s cooking!” Everyone laughed at the lighthearted comment, but it was clear that Barron’s height was inherited from his maternal side—his late grandmother, Amalija Knavs, who was a big influence on his life.
Despite his impressive height, Barron has always had a passion for soccer, not basketball.
