Valerie Bertinelli has found love again! After past heartbreaks, she has a new boyfriend she met on Instagram.
Valerie, who is 63 years old, shared the exciting news on Instagram last Friday. She posted a selfie and used lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song “So High School,” which many think is about Taylor’s boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
This happy post came two years after Valerie’s divorce from Tom Vitale and four years after her first husband, Eddie Van Halen, passed away.
In her Instagram post, Valerie wrote, “I’ll drink what you think and I’m high from smokin’ your jokes all damn night.”
Entertainment Tonight revealed that Valerie’s new boyfriend is writer Mike Goodnough, also known as the Hoarse Whisperer.
Earlier this month, Valerie hinted at her new romance when she told USA TODAY, “I’ve met someone. And I’m really appreciative of him.” She added, “It’s not like any connection I’ve ever had with a man before.
I feel so fortunate to have met him, and I don’t want to give away too much. I was going to die really happy, surrounded by my six cats and dog.”
Mike Goodnough confirmed the relationship in his essay titled “Rumors, Rumors, Rumors…” on his Substack this week. He humorously shared that he asked Valerie in a “reporterly voice” if there was “any truth to the idea you are dating me? Would you like to comment?”
Valerie replied, “It’s true. Yes, I am. You are my partner in life.”
Valerie also talked about her past marriage to Eddie Van Halen in her new cookbook, “Indulge.” She wrote, “Ed and I never stopped loving each other, even though we got divorced.” She added, “Who knows, if not for cancer, we might have had a second wind,” but said this was “wistful thinking.”
Valerie explained that she started following Goodnough on social media in 2016 or 2017, and he followed her back in 2018. They began messaging each other after Valerie and Tom Vitale’s divorce in 2022.
She described Goodnough as “a really super funny, incredibly talented writer.”
In another interview with PEOPLE Magazine this month, Valerie said, “I’m in love. I swear I would never fall in love again, therefore it’s a seesaw of feelings.”
