Little Big Town had one of the best nights of their lives when they were inducted into the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. It was a night to remember, especially with their beautiful performance of “Why Me Lord” alongside country star Vince Gill.
This special moment gave many people, including the writer, goosebumps and left a lasting impression.
The group—Kenna Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet—teamed up with Vince Gill to create a musical masterpiece.
“Why Me Lord” was originally written and recorded by country legend Kris Kristofferson in 1972, and it has been covered by many artists over the years. However, this particular performance is considered one of the best ever.
Interestingly, Vince Gill knew about the Opry’s rule against performing songs with Jesus-related themes to avoid offending non-Christian audience members. Despite this, Vince went ahead with the performance, and the audience loved it.
