Sally Field, a beloved actress, became a star with a career that has spanned over 50 years, starting as the boy-crazy surfer girl in the TV show Gidget.
Her talent shone through in Norma Rae and Places in the Heart, earning her two Academy Awards. Field also grabbed three Primetime Emmy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, two Golden Satellite Awards, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She’s truly one of Hollywood’s finest.
Throughout her career, Sally worked with some of Hollywood’s biggest names and starred in movies that are still classics today. In 2014, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
During her acceptance speech at the 2007 Emmy Awards, where she won for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, Field made a statement that left a mark:
“If the mothers ruled the world, there would be no goddamn wars in the first place.”
Field has been married twice. She married Steven Craig in 1968, and although they divorced five years later, their divorce wasn’t finalized until 1975. From this marriage, Field has two sons: Peter Craig, a novelist and screenwriter, and Eli Craig, an actor and filmmaker known for the cult horror comedy Tucker & Dale vs Evil.
In 1976, Field began dating Burt Reynolds. They starred together in four movies:
Smokey and the Bandit, Smokey and the Bandit II, The End, and Hooper. Their romance lasted until 1982, with many on-again, off-again moments.
Field’s second marriage was to Alan Greisman from 1989 to 1994. They have a son, Sam Greisman.
Now 76, Sally Field has always been stunningly beautiful. Pictures from her early years show how much she’s changed, but one thing remains the same—she’s still incredibly lovely. Field truly defies aging.
