I Met My Husband and His Mistress at a Public Pool – I Wanted to Teach Him a Lesson, but Karma Had Other Plans
When I spotted my husband, Tom, lounging in the pool with a young blonde, my heart raced with anger. I was ready to confront him and demand answers. Little did I know, this moment would reveal his betrayal and set off a series of events that would turn my world upside down.
My name is Lisa, and Tom and I had been married for four years. On the surface, everything looked perfect. Tom had a good job in an office, we owned two cars, a beautiful house, and we even had a dog named Max. Our life seemed like a dream.
But everything changed that day. Since it was my day off, I decided to surprise Tom with a special breakfast. As I flipped pancakes in the kitchen, he walked in looking irritated.
“Good morning, Tom,” I said, trying to sound cheerful. “Breakfast is almost ready!”
“Morning,” he replied, barely looking at me.
When we sat down to eat, I noticed something was off. He seemed annoyed that I had used up all the blueberries. “You know I like blueberries, Lisa,” he snapped.
“Yeah, you could have told me we were leaving,” I shot back, trying to stay calm.
As usual, our conversation escalated quickly. Tom finished his meal in silence, grabbed his briefcase, and headed for the door. “I’ll see you later,” he said coldly.
“Yeah, later,” I muttered, feeling frustrated.
After he left, I sat alone at the table, staring at the half-eaten pancakes. A mix of anger and sadness washed over me. I was tired of our constant fights. I needed to clear my head, so I called my best friend, May.
“Hello, May! Want to go swimming today? I need a distraction,” I said, trying to sound upbeat.
“Of course, Lisa! Let’s meet at my place in an hour,” she replied with her usual excitement.
I got dressed and drove to May’s house. It was a beautiful day, and I hoped some time at the pool would lift my spirits. The pool was packed with families and friends, all enjoying the sunny weather. May and I found a spot close to the water.
After we ordered some pizza, we started chatting about everything and nothing. “This is exactly what I needed,” I sighed, finally starting to relax.
“Me too! There’s nothing like a pool day to lift your spirits,” May grinned back.
But then, my world shattered. I glanced over and saw Tom about twenty meters away, laughing with that same young blonde. Her hand rested comfortably on his arm. “May, look at that!” I exclaimed, my voice trembling.
“Oh Lisa, I’m so sorry. Is that Tom?” May stuttered.
“Yes, it is! And who is that blonde?” I asked, my temper flaring. Tom looked so carefree, as if he didn’t have a care in the world. I felt a rush of anger and betrayal. “This is unbelievable!”
“I have to do something!” I stood up, ready to confront him.
“Hold on, Lisa!” May grabbed my arm. “Think this through!”
But I was too shocked to listen. As I moved closer to Tom, a big, muscular guy stepped in front of me. He looked around twenty-two and had a fierce look in his eyes.
“Hey! What do you think you’re doing?” the young man shouted as he grabbed Tom by the collar and pushed him onto the sunbed. The blonde screamed and jumped back.
Tom’s face went pale. “I-I can explain!” he stammered.
“Explain what? That you’re cheating on my girlfriend?” the guy spat, his teeth clenched.
Tom’s eyes widened in fear. “Please, don’t cause a scene. I’ll give you money. What do you want?” he begged, his voice shaky.
The young man looked disgusted. “You think you can buy your way out of this?” He raised a fist, ready to hit.
I stood there, caught between anger and amusement. This was too good to miss, so I pulled out my phone and started recording.
“Don’t hit me, please! I’m sorry!” Tom whimpered.
But the young man’s rage turned to sympathy. He pushed Tom away and said, “You’re not worth it.” Tom slumped back onto the sunbed, looking pathetic.
Feeling a strange sense of satisfaction, I stopped recording and approached Tom. “Lisa, it’s not what it looks like,” he said, his voice trembling.
“Oh really? So you weren’t just making out with another woman?” I yelled, raising my phone. “I’ve got it all on video!”
His expression turned grim. “Please, Lisa. Let’s talk about this.”
“There’s nothing to talk about. We’re done. I’m divorcing you.” My voice was icy and firm.
The ride home was silent. Tom kept glancing at me, but I shook my head. My mind was made up. I looked out the window, trying to process everything: the confrontation, the betrayal, the public humiliation.
When we got home, Tom finally broke the silence. “I’m sorry, Lisa. I swear it won’t happen again,” he said desperately, his eyes red from crying.
“I don’t care, Tom. You betrayed me. You’ve destroyed any trust we had left,” I replied, crossing my arms.
“Please, Lisa,” he insisted, stepping closer. “We can work this out.” I pulled away from him.
An unbridgeable gap formed between us. “No, Tom. I’m done. I can’t forgive you,” I shot back, my voice shaking with hurt and anger.
Tom’s sorrow quickly turned to rage. “Are you serious? This is all your fault!” he yelled, his face twisted in anger. “You started acting cold and distant. I did this because of you!”
I stared at him in disbelief. “You think I’m to blame for your cheating? That’s unbelievable!”
“Yes! You’ve changed since we got married,” he shouted back.
“You drove me away,” he claimed, his voice rising. “Lisa, you made me feel unwelcome!”
“Are you kidding me?” I said, horrified.
Standing there, he was accusing me of being the one who betrayed him. That was the last straw. I pulled out my phone and clicked on the video I had recorded.
With just a few taps, I sent it to his boss. “Let’s see how your boss feels about his daughter being in this video,” I wrote, hitting send.
Tom’s eyes widened in horror. “No, Lisa! You can’t do that!” he yelled, reaching for my phone, but it was too late. The damage was done.
The fallout was immediate. The next day, Tom lost his job. His boss was furious about the scandal involving his daughter.
When Tom got home, he looked completely crushed. He tried again to convince me to take him back, but I stood firm. His life was falling apart, but I felt an unexpected sense of freedom.
I was ready to move on. I filed for divorce, finally feeling powerful and independent for the first time in a long time. I realized I had been carrying the weight of our troubled marriage alone for too long.
Tom’s betrayal had destroyed our marriage, but it had also set me free. Now, I could leave behind his lies and deceit. I was excited to rediscover who I was and chase my own happiness.
Even with the future uncertain, I felt hopeful for the first time in ages.
