Pierce Brosnan’s adopted son Christopher has been spotted in London. The 51-year-old caught the interest of photographers in the upscale Notting Hill district due to his outfit.
One might almost not have recognized the son of Pierce Brosnan, 71. In photos obtained by “The Daily Mail,” Christopher Brosnan, 51, is seen walking through the streets of London. On the famous Portobello Road, the former filmmaker stood out with his look. Wearing a loose hoodie and a quilted vest, the 51-year-old seemed out of place, especially in June. The striking aspect of the photos is the stark contrast between Christopher’s life and that of Brosnan’s other three sons.
Pierce Brosnan: He Hasn’t Had Contact with Christopher for 19 Years
While Pierce Brosnan regularly shares photoshoots with his sons Dylan, 27, and Paris, 23, on Instagram, openly displaying his family happiness, his adopted son bears the scars of the past. Dylan and Paris have followed in their father’s footsteps, appearing in cover stories and on the red carpet. Despite initial help from the “Mamma Mia!” star, Christopher chose a darker path.
The biological son of Brosnan’s first wife, Cassandra Harris, †43, Christopher turned to substances early on. In 1997, he was jailed for three months for drunk driving. After that, things steadily went downhill: Christopher became addicted to drugs like cocaine and heroin. In 2002, he fell into a coma after an overdose. Pierce Brosnan, who adopted both Christopher and his sister Charlotte, †41, in 1986, cut off contact with the now 51-year-old.
Pierce Brosnan: “I Had to Tell Him: ‘Get Busy Living, or Get Busy Dying'”
In 2005, the Hollywood star told “Playboy” that his son was “lost” but refused help. “I know where he is, but he doesn’t have an easy life,” Brosnan said shortly after ending contact. Cutting ties with Christopher was anything but easy for him.
In his “Playboy” interview 19 years ago, Brosnan revealed, “You can never completely give up on them, but I have given up on Christopher. I had to tell him: ‘Go, get busy living, or get busy dying.'”
Christopher Brosnan Was Missing from the Radar for Five Years
For five years, Christopher Brosnan had vanished without a trace. The media last reported on him in 2019 when he was seen walking through London visibly confused. An eyewitness reported that Christopher “wears shabby clothes and looks for cigarette butts on the street.”
It is unclear how Pierce Brosnan’s adopted son is doing today and what the relationship between the two men is like. In 2022, the 71-year-old mentioned his “lost” son on Instagram in a Father’s Day post, assuring his sons Dylan, Paris, Sean, 40, and Christopher of his love. He did not mention his late adopted daughter Charlotte, who died of ovarian cancer in 2013 at the age of 41.
Pierce Brosnan Has Five Children
In addition to his two adopted children, Brosnan has a son with his first wife, Cassandra. Sean was born in 1983. Cassandra Harris died of cancer eight years later.
Ten years later, in 2001, Brosnan married television presenter Keely Shaye Brosnan, 60. With her, he has two sons, Dylan and Paris. His youngest children are already making their own way in Hollywood: Dylan is a successful model, and Paris has also landed some modeling gigs but focuses on his work as an artist. Christopher could have also made a name for himself in Los Angeles: Brosnan had him work as an assistant director on “Tomorrow Never Dies” in 1997. Two years later, Christopher was involved in “The World Is Not Enough.”
