After a huge fight with his grandmother, Grace, Mike felt hurt and angry. When she passed away, all he received was a Bible with a short note tucked inside. Feeling bitter and disappointed, he tossed the Bible into his closet and didn’t look at it again.
But years later, when he found himself in a tough spot, that forgotten book would change everything.
“Unbelievable,” Mike said to himself, staring at the latest medical bill for his mother, Kaila. He shut his laptop with a heavy heart. The bills were piling up, and even with insurance, they were drowning in costs. Their savings were nearly gone, and the stress reminded him of Grace.
He often thought about how she had decided to leave everything to her church after their last argument about him going to service. “No, Mom,” Mike said, squeezing her hand gently. “This is for you. Grandma wanted it that way.”

They found a church that felt welcoming, and each Sunday, they would sit together, sharing stories and laughter, remembering Grace and what she had meant to them. Sometimes, Mike would close his eyes and whisper to her in his mind, asking her to greet whatever higher power might be watching over them.
“Thank you, Grandma,” he would say silently, feeling her presence in his heart.
