Newborn Baby Cries All Day No Matter What Parents Do, after a While They Check His Crib

Walter stepped through the door after a long day at work, and the moment he entered, the high-pitched wails of his infant son, Logan, reached his ears. The sound echoed through the house, filling him with a familiar sense of helplessness.

He made his way to the kitchen where his wife, Abby, sat at the table, looking worn out and defeated. Her eyes were red from crying, her face showing exhaustion and frustration.

“How long has Logan been crying?” Walter asked softly as he walked up behind her, wrapping his arms around her in a comforting embrace.

Abby’s voice cracked as she spoke. “I’ve tried everything, Walter! I fed him, changed him, burped him, bathed him… nothing works! I even checked his temperature, but nothing helps. I don’t know what else to do.” She broke down into sobs, burying her face in her hands.

The past month had been nothing short of a whirlwind since they had become parents. Logan’s constant cries had turned their world upside down. Walter couldn’t help but feel that he was failing as a father. He gently placed his hand on Abby’s back.

“Let’s figure it out together,” he reassured her, trying to calm her down. “We’ll get through this.”

He guided her to Logan’s room, hoping that maybe this time they could find a solution. But when Walter walked into the nursery, his smile disappeared. The crib, which should have held their son, was empty.

Instead, a dictaphone sat on the mattress, playing the recorded sounds of Logan’s cries. Next to it was a note, its presence sending a cold shiver down Walter’s spine.

He quickly pressed the stop button on the dictaphone, silencing the haunting sound. His eyes skimmed over the note, and his heart skipped a beat as he read the chilling message:

“I warned you that you’d regret being rude to me. If you want to see your baby again, leave $200,000 in the storage lockers near the pier. If you go to the police, you’ll never see him again.”

Abby gasped when she saw the note, her face pale with shock. “What does this mean? Who would do this? Have we been rude to someone? Was there anyone we upset recently?”

Walter’s mind raced, trying to make sense of it all. Then, it hit him. He remembered a heated encounter with a janitor at the maternity hospital just a few weeks ago. The man had tripped him by accident, causing him to drop a gift he had for Abby.

Frustrated, Walter had snapped at him, and the janitor had muttered an ominous warning.

“You’ll regret this!” the janitor had hissed before storming off.

“It must be him,” Walter muttered, a knot tightening in his stomach. “We need to go to the police.”

Abby hesitated, clutching the note tightly in her hands. “No,” she said, her voice trembling. “The kidnapper said not to involve the police. What if they hurt Logan? Maybe we should just pay the ransom, Walter. It’s the only way to be sure.”

Walter shook his head, his jaw clenched in determination. “I can’t take that risk. We have to get help. We need to involve the police if we want Logan to come home safely.”

Reluctantly, Abby agreed, though her worry was still evident. As they walked to the car, Walter’s phone buzzed in his pocket. He pulled it out, his heart racing as he read the message:

“This is your last warning. If you go to the police, your kid goes into the bay. Deliver the money to the location now.”

Abby’s face crumpled as she began to cry. “Walter, we can’t risk it! Just pay them the money! I don’t want to lose Logan!”

Walter pulled her into his arms, trying to comfort her. “We’ll figure this out. Let’s just get you home first. We’ll take care of it, I promise.”

Once Abby was settled back at home, Walter drove to the bank and withdrew the large sum of money. With his heart pounding, he followed the instructions and placed the cash in a storage locker near the pier. But instead of leaving, Walter decided to stay nearby, watching for any sign of the kidnapper.

Minutes later, he spotted the janitor approaching the locker. His pulse quickened as the man grabbed the bag of money and walked away. Walter followed him at a safe distance, trying not to draw attention.

The janitor stopped at another set of lockers and deposited the bag. But before Walter could confront him, a large group of tourists stepped into his path, blocking his view. By the time the crowd cleared, the janitor was gone.

Walter rushed to the locker, but the bag was missing, and the lock had been tampered with. His stomach dropped. He had failed.

Frustrated and defeated, Walter returned home, but something felt terribly wrong. The house was eerily quiet, and Abby was nowhere to be found. Her belongings were gone—her clothes, her personal items—everything had disappeared.

Walter’s heart pounded in his chest as he frantically tried to reach her on the phone. But each call went unanswered.

Then it hit him like a bolt of lightning: Abby had orchestrated the kidnapping.

His world collapsed. But in that moment of despair, something deep inside him stirred. He wouldn’t let her get away with this. He had to find a way to fix this for Logan, no matter the cost.

Walter returned to the maternity hospital and went straight to Dr. Jones, a trusted doctor who had been there for them throughout Abby’s pregnancy. Walter explained everything, and Dr. Jones agreed to help him.

The doctor made a call to Abby, pretending to have urgent news. “Mrs. Taylor, this is Dr. Jones from the maternity hospital. We’ve identified a critical genetic condition in your son’s routine tests. He needs urgent treatment to prevent life-threatening complications. Please bring him in immediately.”

Walter’s heart raced as he listened, unable to hear Abby’s response but recognizing the panic in her voice as she spoke. It was enough to know that she had fallen for the ruse.

“She’s bringing him in,” Dr. Jones said after hanging up. “You need to act quickly.”

Hours later, Walter stood in the busy hospital lobby, his pulse racing. He saw Abby enter, Logan in her arms, but she wasn’t alone. Walter’s brother, James, walked beside her. He was holding Logan as if the baby were his own.

Walter couldn’t believe his eyes. But then, before he could process the shock, police officers and FBI agents, whom he had alerted earlier, moved in and arrested Abby and James. Abby screamed, her voice filled with fury.

“You think you’ve won?” she shouted as she was handcuffed. “Logan isn’t even yours! He’s James’s son! You couldn’t give me a baby, so I found someone who could!”

Walter froze, feeling the weight of her words. James avoided his gaze, guilt written all over his face.

Walter stepped forward, his voice steady and calm despite the chaos around him. “Logan may not share my blood, but he is my son in every way that matters. And I will raise him to be nothing like either of you.”

Months passed, and Walter finalized the adoption of Logan. The betrayal had left deep scars, but Logan’s smile, his laughter, and the love they shared made it all worthwhile. Every time he looked at his son, Walter knew that together, they could overcome anything.

One evening, as Walter tucked Logan into bed, he whispered softly, “You’re my miracle, Logan. Together, we’ll create a life full of love, no matter what it takes.”
