Katie Holmes is immensely proud of her daughter: Suri Cruise has successfully completed high school. At the graduation ceremony, mother and daughter hugged and celebrated together – with no sign of father Tom Cruise.
Suri Cruise, 18, is officially no longer a student! After being spotted in an elegant dress on her way to prom in Manhattan on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, the celebrity daughter received her diploma at the traditional ceremony on Saturday, June 22. Naturally, her mother Katie Holmes, 45, was there, beaming with pride.

In pictures obtained by “Page Six,” Suri can be seen hugging several graduates. The 18-year-old wore a summery white dress under her red graduation gown with a matching cap. Additionally, Suri posed with her mother; the two embraced and laughed heartily. Katie Holmes’ joy is evident; she is thrilled for her daughter. Her little girl has grown up and will soon be leaving the nest. In the fall, she will turn her back on her hometown of New York to attend Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. The celebrity offspring revealed this a few weeks ago on TikTok.
Suri Cruise graduates under a different name
There was no sign of Tom Cruise, 61, at the graduation ceremony. This is hardly surprising, as it is said that the actor and his daughter have had no contact for years. Suri has apparently taken another step to distance herself from her father: she has dropped his name for good. As early as May, when the aspiring actress participated in the Broadway play “Head Over Heels,” she was listed as “Suri Noelle.”
The teenager also completed high school under this name. According to the US magazine, the program for the ceremony showed that Suri had forgone her famous father’s surname. In doing so, she follows in the footsteps of Brad Pitt’s daughters Shiloh, 18, and Vivienne, 15.
