My in-laws were in a serious car accident, and although they survived, they were badly hurt. My husband felt he couldn’t leave their side at the hospital. I tried to convince him otherwise, saying, “I’m your wife; shouldn’t you prioritize me first?” But he wasn’t having it, so I decided to go on our honeymoon alone.
While I was away, I was stunned to see a Facebook post of him having coffee with a woman friend. I immediately called him up and said, “It looks like you’re not spending much time at the hospital.”
He answered, clearly irritated, “This photo is from the hospital cafeteria. My friend Amy came to support me, which is more than I can say for you!”
When I came back ten days later, I found a note on the table that read, “It’s better if we take some time apart. It seems you don’t understand the importance of family.”
I’m heartbroken and feel like our marriage is falling apart before it even really began. I still believe he should have been with me on our honeymoon. What should I do? – Suzy
