Instead of Netflix and Zoom, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry now want to travel the world. Will they be helping more people with this?
In brief:
- In May, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry visited the African country of Nigeria.
- They are now said to be planning a world tour for their charity projects.
- This could also benefit their streaming deals.
Will Meghan Markle (42) and Prince Harry (39) now be “Mr. and Mrs. Worldwide”? Some voices suspect exactly that!
In May, the Sussexes spent about 72 hours in Nigeria. Their visit was to deepen their charity work and to attend the Duke’s Invictus Games. Furthermore, Meghan Markle had the opportunity to learn about her newly discovered Nigerian roots.
After their return from Nigeria, rumors about further foreign travels of the California-based couple began to circulate. Prince Harry fueled the speculation further with the Nigerian newspaper “Peoples Daily.”
One can’t do everything via Zoom, said the reclusive royal. And: “We are looking forward to traveling more because the work is important.”
Will Meghan Markle soon be on tour?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not publicly shared any concrete future plans. However, a source claims to know more and recently told the “Mirror” something interesting…
“There is already a lot of talk and excitement in Ghana.” Everyone there is eagerly awaiting Harry and Meghan to come and experience the great culture and warmth. Will Ghana be the next stop?
According to British observers, more could be coming…
Talk-show host of “That Was the Woke That Was,” Andre Walker, predicts the next step. “Harry and Meghan are planning a world tour this summer after the success of their trip to Nigeria.”
Political expert Sam Armstrong responds, saying he believes the Duke and Duchess “want to prove themselves.” They want to show that they can do better than Prince William (41) and Princess Kate (42).
Netflix could also benefit
Meghan and Harry signed multi-year deals with the streaming platforms Spotify and Netflix at the end of 2020. Apart from their documentary “Harry & Meghan” in 2022, nothing has been released so far.
Their partnership with music giant Spotify ended in the summer of 2023. Since then, Meghan Markle has signed a new podcast deal with Lemonada Media. However, it is questionable whether the contracts can hold up without content.
Sam Armstrong notes: “Of course, one must not forget that they need to do something to maintain the interest of Spotify and Netflix.” Both providers have paid hundreds of millions of dollars, but have received little in return.
So will we soon be able to stream the Sussexes’ travels? Or are they just spreading empty rumors to the world?
