- Thanks to the loyal dog, Garrett was rescued.
In the wild mountains of Oregon in the USA, a dog saved his owner’s life. The man had lost control of his vehicle and plunged into a ravine. One of his four dogs then ran six kilometers through hilly terrain to get help!
Brandon Garrett was driving his pickup on a winding road when the accident happened. The American ran off the road and landed with his car in a river. Despite the serious accident, he survived and managed to move about 100 meters away from the wreckage and wait on dry land.
Meanwhile, one of his dogs set off for a nearby campsite, according to “Good News Network.” Some of Garrett’s relatives had set up camp there. They were already worried because Garrett hadn’t returned as planned – the appearance of the dog confirmed their worst fears.
The family immediately began searching for Garrett. After discovering his vehicle, they alerted the rescue teams. The responders arrived and began the complicated task of rescuing Garrett from the ravine.
Rescue operation successful thanks to loyal dog
With the help of chainsaws, the path to Garrett was cleared. He was then loaded into a rescue basket and secured. Afterward, he was pulled over the ravine using a high rope system and handed over to medical personnel.
Garrett had to be flown to the hospital. Fortunately, his dogs were unharmed.
The rescue teams later emphasized that they probably wouldn’t have reached Garrett in time without the dog. “It’s a sobering reminder that not all heroes wear capes or even clothes. Some have fur and bark,” said a rescue team spokesperson.
