Alfonso Ribeiro, known for his role on “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air,” faced a tough day when his daughter Ava Sue had a scooter accident just one day before her fourth birthday.
Ava Sue was riding her sit-down scooter when she fell and got hurt badly. She ended up with serious burns, bruising, and scarring on her right elbow, shoulder, and around her right eye.
Both Alfonso and his wife, Angela Ribeiro, shared updates about Ava Sue’s condition on social media.
“Not the kind of day you want the day before turning 4. I just want to give a heartfelt thank you to Kare MD Skin Health for their emergency service and the procedure to help reduce the risk of scarring.
I’m so proud of how brave my baby girl was during the surgery,” Alfonso wrote, sharing photos of Ava Sue and expressing his gratitude to the medical team.
Angela added that she had a feeling something would go wrong, which she called a motherly instinct. She said, “I told everyone—family, kids, sitter, and friends helping with Ava’s birthday party—that ‘we are not doing anything crazy or dangerous today that could lead to an ER visit.’ I made everyone look me in the eye when I said it,” she posted.
Soon after Angela’s warning, Ava Sue fell off her scooter.
When Ava Sue arrived at Kare MD Skin Health, Dr. Raffy determined that she needed surgery to prevent scarring.
“Not a fun way to spend your last day as a 3-year-old, but she was a trooper,” Angela wrote. “Giving this sweet girl some extra cuddles tonight.”
The staff at Kare MD Skin Health also took to Instagram to wish Ava Sue a happy birthday and thank Alfonso for trusting them with his daughter.
“Thank you for the very kind words, Alfonso. We are honored to care for your precious princess Ava. Best wishes for a speedy recovery,” they wrote in the caption.
We wish Ava Sue a speedy recovery and hope she has a very happy birthday despite the tough circumstances.
