Mexican Luz Elena captured the moment: a father holding his small son’s hand while carrying a large gray pit bull, its tongue hanging out and head resting on the man’s shoulder.
In Elena’s cute and funny TikTok video titled, “When your priority is your dog, not the child,” the father, dog, and child are seen crossing the street and walking down the sidewalk. This video sparked discussions about family priorities.
As the trio approached the sidewalk, a woman joined them, pushing a child’s three-wheeled stroller or bike that was carrying a large packaged item.
One TikTok user joked, “The boy had to walk because his mom took his car.” They added, “Nobody noticed the mom pushing the tricycle from behind. She put something in it, so the kid had to walk. Maybe the dog is sick?”
Others suggested the dad was carrying the dog because the sidewalk was too hot for its paws, while the child’s shoes protected his feet.
