We’ve all made decisions we wish we could take back, words we regret saying, and actions that left us thinking, “What was I thinking?” But for most of us, these regrets are just memories. For Ethan “ModBoy” Bramble, though, they’re written all over his body.
Ethan, an Australian known for his love of extreme body art, has made himself into a living piece of artwork. With over 200 tattoos covering him from head to toe, Ethan’s passion for self-expression goes well beyond the small designs most people settle for.
Tattoos are popular these days, and many people see them as a way to show off who they are. But while most of us stick to a few small tattoos, Ethan has taken it to the max, crossing a line that few would dare.
Ethan’s journey began young. According to reports, he was just 11 years old when he decided to try out body modification. His first alteration was stretching his earlobes, a process that involves gradually increasing the size of the ear piercing so it can hold larger jewelry. From that first experiment, he was hooked.
Over the years, he went on to do more extreme modifications. He’s had his tongue split in two, giving it a forked look, and even had his belly button surgically removed.
But the tattoos are what make Ethan stand out the most. Covering nearly every inch of his body, these tattoos have turned him into a walking canvas, and he’s spent around $60,000 AUD—about $39,000 USD—to get this unique look. “It’s not cheap,” Ethan admitted in an interview. “But I always felt it was worth it at the time.”
Recently, though, Ethan’s perspective has started to change, especially now that he’s a father. In a candid interview with LadBibleTV’s No Filter, he opened up about having second thoughts. “I guess you could say I regret some tattoos,” he confessed. He paused before adding, “But it’s not just regret. I think there’s a difference between regretting something and just wishing people saw you differently.”
Being a dad has made him think more about how others perceive him, especially in situations like taking his young daughter to school. “The face is a big thing,” he admitted. “It can lead to so many… for some people, not everyone, but it can cause a lot of issues. I wouldn’t want my daughter to have to deal with that until she’s older.”
Looking back, he added, “I wish I hadn’t gone as hectic as I did on my face.”
Now, determined to make a change, Ethan has started undergoing laser tattoo removal, a painful and slow process. His goal is to remove some of the tattoos he got in his younger years. “I’ve been getting laser surgery for about 12 months now,” he shared. “We do it in sections, but I’ve probably gone over the whole thing six or seven times.”
For Ethan, this isn’t just about the physical look—it’s also about mental health. “I started doing it because of the anxiety I was getting,” he explained. “Mental stuff is tricky to figure out, but I believe a lot of my anxiety came from having a face full of tattoos.”
Despite the pain, Ethan feels at peace with his decision. “I’m happy with the way I look now, but I’m also happy knowing that over the next two years, my face tattoos will slowly disappear,” he said, looking forward to a fresh start. “I’m just clearing the canvas.”
