The 13-year-old singer looked nervous, and it was clear that she was feeling the pressure. Mel B, noticing Courtney’s anxiety, kindly said, “Don’t be nervous. You’re here for a reason, so go for it and good luck.”

But little did they know, Courtney was about to prove everyone wrong in the best way possible. She took a deep breath, and without hesitation, began singing Otis Redding’s powerful song “Too Hot To Handle.” In an instant, the shy teen transformed into a bold, energetic performer with a voice that was nothing short of incredible. The judges’ jaws dropped as Courtney poured her soul into the song. Howie Mandel, so moved by her performance, couldn’t hold back. He slammed the golden buzzer, sending Courtney straight to the quarter-finals. “Oh my gosh, you’re not from this era; you’re from a whole different era,” Howie exclaimed, clearly amazed by her talent.

Simon Cowell, always known for his tough critiques, was equally stunned. “You were this shy little thing when you came out, and then you sing and you’re like a lion,” he said, giving her praise for her incredible transformation on stage.

Though Courtney didn’t win the top prize, she made it all the way to the top ten, leaving a lasting impression on both the judges and the audience. Each performance was more exciting than the last. One of the highlights of her journey was when she delivered an electrifying performance of Tina Turner’s “Nutbush City Limits.”

The audience went wild, and Howie couldn’t contain his excitement. “You are on fire, you’re amazing, you’re a superstar,” he shouted, clearly in awe of Courtney’s growing talent.
