Cher is ready to leave the U.S. if Donald Trump wins the presidency again in 2024. In a bold interview with The Guardian, she made her feelings clear.

“I almost got an ulcer the last time,” Cher said, showing her frustration. “If he gets in, who knows? This time I will leave [the country].”

During Trump’s presidency, he removed protections that kept LGBTQ people safe from discrimination. Cher didn’t hold back when talking about this issue, especially concerning trans rights and the huge number of anti-LGBTQ bills being introduced.

“It’s something like 500 bills they’re trying to pass,” Cher explained. “I was with two trans girls the other night – and of course my own child [Chaz is trans]. I was saying, ‘We’ve got to stand together.’ I don’t know what their eventual plan is for trans people. I don’t put anything past them.”

This isn’t the first time Cher has spoken out against Trump. When he became president in 2020, she said, “I hate to even call him a president because all he does is watch TV.”

Cher also believes that if Trump doesn’t win again, he might have a dramatic reaction. “If Trump can’t be in the White House, he’s going to burn it down,” she declared. “He’s the most vindictive person I’ve ever witnessed. I think he’s fighting so hard because he’s going to be prosecuted when he gets out of the White House.”

With her powerful words, Cher shows she’s determined to stand up for what she believes in and fight for the rights of those who need it most.
