Angelina Jolie and her ex-husband Brad Pitt have been fighting a legal battle for a while now. But it looks like Angelina is ready to move on and leave it all behind.
Keep reading to find out the latest twists in this case.
The fight over Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s French vineyard, Château Miraval, is still ongoing. However, Jolie’s lawyers are now asking to “end the fighting” and drop their lawsuit. The couple bought this beautiful property and its winemaking business in 2008, sharing it equally until 2021 when Jolie decided to sell her share.
The drama started when Pitt sued her over the sale, saying it broke their agreement that he would buy her shares first.
In April 2024, Jolie’s lawyer filed a motion saying Pitt wouldn’t buy Jolie’s shares unless she signed a new non-disclosure agreement (NDA). They claimed this NDA was a way for Pitt to “cover up” his abuse of her and their children. Pitt’s lawyers strongly denied these allegations.
Jolie’s lawyer said this week, “Pitt has tried to punish and control Angelina by demanding a new NDA to cover his personal misconduct and abuse.” They added, “Those actions are central to these proceedings. We are not surprised Mr. Pitt is afraid to turn over the documents proving these facts.
While Angelina again asks Mr. Pitt to end the fighting and help their family heal, if he doesn’t withdraw his lawsuit, she has no choice but to get the evidence needed to prove her allegations.”
Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016 after two years of marriage. They have six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne.
In April this year, Jolie’s lawyers asked the court to make Pitt and his team explain why he insisted on the expanded NDA as a condition for buying her share of Miraval. They said, “He suddenly demanded an NDA covering his personal misconduct, whether related to Miraval or not.”
Jolie’s legal team claims that “Pitt’s physical abuse of Jolie began well before the family’s September 2016 plane trip from France to Los Angeles.” They said, “this flight was the first time he turned his physical abuse on the children too, and that’s when Jolie left him.”
The documents also stated, “This behavior caused significant and ongoing post-traumatic stress.” They added, “At trial, Jolie will prove with testimony, emails, photos, and other evidence why Pitt was so worried about his misconduct that he ruined his own deal to buy Jolie’s interest in Miraval because she refused his new NDA.
Some of this evidence is under Pitt’s control, and Jolie is seeking it with this motion.”
Pitt’s team claimed in 2023 that it was actually Jolie and her team who wanted the “broader” NDA, not him.
As for why Jolie didn’t press charges against Pitt, the documents say, “Jolie didn’t press charges because she believed the best course was for Pitt to accept responsibility and help the family recover from the post-traumatic stress he caused.”

That’s what happens when you break up a person’s previous marriage. What a tangled web we weave, when we start out to deceive.
