Jason Momoa sent the internet into a frenzy when he introduced his new girlfriend on Instagram this Monday, and everyone’s been buzzing about them ever since!

While some might be taken aback, it turns out that Momoa has been dropping subtle hints about their romance for a while. If you were paying attention, you might have picked up on the signs he’s been sharing with his fans.

The 44-year-old actor first met his 32-year-old girlfriend on the set of the 2021 Netflix movie Sweet Girl. But here’s the kicker—back then, he was still married to Lisa Bonet. However, there’s a twist! Even though they were legally married, Momoa and Bonet had been separated for over five years.

The official separation between Bonet and Momoa took place on October 7, 2020. So when Momoa and Arjona started dating, there was no drama or overlap. Fast forward to January 8 of this year, Bonet officially filed for divorce, and just one day later, their divorce was finalized peacefully.

Now that everything is out in the open, Momoa couldn’t wait to show his love for Arjona to the world. He posted a series of pictures from their recent trip to Japan, and you could tell just how much he adores her. In his caption, he lovingly called her “mi amor,” which means “my love” in Spanish. If that doesn’t melt your heart, just take a look at their adorable photos together!

One photo, in particular, caught everyone’s eye. In it, Arjona has her hand gently resting on Momoa’s arm, while he wraps his arms around her in a close embrace. Their body language speaks volumes about their deep connection and affection for each other.

Momoa also shared how blown away he was by their trip to Japan, saying, “Japan, you are a dream come true; you blew my mind.” He added, “We’re so grateful to everyone who welcomed us into their homes, allowing us to go on another amazing journey with our loved ones, making memories with both old and new friends. Motorbikes and mayhem on the highway. Warm regards, J.”

As for Arjona’s past, it’s a bit of a mystery. In 2019, she married attorney Edgardo Canales, but not much is known about their separation or whether they’ve divorced.

Even though it might seem like Arjona is a new face in Momoa’s life, she’s already becoming part of the family. In fact, Momoa’s stepdaughter, Zoë Kravitz, chose Arjona to direct her new movie Blink Twice, which will hit theaters on August 23 and stars Channing Tatum.

With Kravitz and Tatum now engaged, their wedding is set to be a spectacular event. And you can be sure that Momoa, Bonet, and Lenny Kravitz will all be there.

Momoa and Bonet have a long history together. They dated for 13 years before finally getting married in October 2017. Together, they have two children—a 16-year-old daughter named Lola and a 15-year-old son named Nakoa-Wolf—who they continue to raise privately, away from the public eye.

The couple didn’t publicly announce their split until January 2022. They shared a joint statement on Instagram that read, “We’ve all felt the strain and adjustments of these revolutionary times. A revolution is taking place, and our family is not an exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring.”

They continued, “As a result, we are informing our families of our impending divorce. We share this not to gain attention, but so that we can live our lives with honesty and integrity every day.”
